Our Story

Britt and Clark first met in October of 2010 on a gorgeous, college football-watching Saturday in Dallas at the classy uptown bar Nodding Donkey. Clark, representing his UT Longhorns from head-to-toe, was first spotted by Britt (bright orange shirts on good looking guys tend to have that effect) and the rest was history.

The two connected over football, striking up conversation over their shared love of the Kansas City Chiefs (Britt’s love might have been a tad exaggerated, but in that moment it was stronger than ever). Britt’s girlfriends Maclay and Cayla watched in awe of their instant connection (and of Britt’s newfound love of sports) and just like that, “Cute Clark” won everyone over. Between their contagious positivity, shared love of family and most importantly, height-to-height ratios matched perfectly – we knew this was something special.

Britt’s first trip up to Aspen was over America’s (Britt’s) birthday the following year. She quickly fell in love with the town and knew it would always be a special place that her and Clark could share for years to come. Fast forward six years later, after countless trips in every season, Aspen was deemed the perfect place to walk down the aisle. But we skipped the best part of their story: their engagement!

He Proposed

A little background information first: Clark inherited an awesome vintage Jeep from his parents' place in Aspen, and had started to make sunset cruises in the neighborhood a weekly occurrence with Britt. Little did she know Clark had something incredible planned for them in the coming months on one of their supposedly regular nightly cruises!

One Friday in May, the two hopped in the Jeep and started driving down the windy roads of Highland Park when Britt told Clark to head down to Turtle Creek Boulevard - it was so pretty down by the water. To Clark's surprise, Britt was guiding him in the exact direction he needed to be going... something special awaited her in Turtle Creek Park. When he pulled over to the side of the road, Britt was instantly distracted by a "blogger" who was having her picture taken while posing all over the place... in all different positions. Britt had no idea that the blogger was actually a decoy for the professional photographer, brought there by Clark to capture the special moment. Clark proposed, Britt said YES and the entire occasion was caught on camera to enjoy for years to come.

She Said Yes

After the proposal, Britt met the "blogger," who turned out to be a stand-in for the model who was supposed to be there. Just a runner-turned-model on a casual Friday night stroll who got to be a part of an incredible moment! Britt and Clark joined their entire families to celebrate afterwards, and will never stop laughing about the hilarious distraction of the "blogger" during the proposal.
